Agriculture

PALES work directly with rural farming communities by empowering good agricultural practices as a means of increasing production and food security in households.

We believe in sustainable practices as an answer of biodiversity restoration and conservation. Our farmers under program, have put the practicesat their finger tips and are the witnesses of its potential benefits to the farming communities around their areas.

We deliver knowledge and practices to our farmers under program through structured trainings, on farm demonstrations, field visits and planned field tours to ensure that every farmer get opportunity to learn and develop skills for improving farming practices accordingly.

Our field extension staff arranges regular follow-ups at household levels to assess the degree of adoption rate of the specific practices and receiving feedback about the practicability of the practices under application.

In order to improveand broadening learning platform, PALES has established a Farmer Training Centre (FTC) where cereals, legumes, vegetables and perennial crops are grown throughout the year under well demonstrated sustainable farming practices.

This is the center of excellence across the areawhere farmers, researchers, agriculture institutions and other agricultural stakeholders have an opportunity to visit the centre for learning, sharingknowledge, experiences, information and practices regarding to sustainable farming system.
